Dateline – Grand Forks, ND:
November 12, 2008 - Approximately forty engineers, contractors and other interested individuals toured the Cirrus Aircraft manufacturing facility in Grand Forks, ND after an in-depth study of the psychrometrics involved in dehumidification of the facility. Mark Bradley, senior application specialist from CDIMS/ARID-Dry discussed psychrometrics, moisture load estimating and several desiccant dehumidification applications. About half of the attendees also braved typical wind, cold and snow to explore the internals of the custom desiccant dehumidification units provided by CDIMS and the local agent; Schwab, Vollhaber and Lubratt company. The three custom air handling units manufactured by Concept and Designs, Inc. have been in service since 2006 to control moisture regain in composite construction. The mechanical systems were designed by the local engineering firm Obermiller Nelson and installed by C.L. Linfoot, also of Grand Forks.
