ARID-Dry and ServiceMaster Clean
by Robinson help save the day.
Two trailer mounted desiccant dehumidifiers, built and engineered by ARID-Dry by CDIMS , helped saved the day for the Catholic Church after Hurricane Ike devastated Galveston, Texas, this past fall. That’s according to Brad Robinson of ServiceMaster Clean by Robinson. Brad’s company is based in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and he was called upon to help with the hurricane clean up. Both units, a 2,000 CFM and 5,000 CFM, are mounted on trailers, allowing ServiceMaster to be very mobile. Brad was able to head to Texas and start the clean up, soon after receiving the call. The church has 5 buildings, averaging 15,000 square feet and all suffered heavy water damage. The 2,000 CFM unit is propane reactivated and the 5,000 CFM is an electric reactivated dehumidifier and both were used in tandem which gives the company a large presence in a disaster such as Ike. Drying all five buildings took approximalty a month. “ The ARID-Dry systems by CDIMS are great,” said Brad, “very straightforward and requiring very little maintenance”, a real plus when you’re called on in a hurry because of a disaster such as Ike.

Tom Says! Should your desiccant rotor become clogged with debris, take an air hose with 80 psi and blow accumulated dust and debris out of the wheel while at the same time on the opposite side of the wheel vacuum up the dislodged material with a shop vac. Do not do this while the machine is running and keep the air hose several inches off the face of the desiccant wheel while cleaning.
